B+W 58mm Close-Up +5 (NL5) Filter – Filter Close Up BW
Overview
With a +5 diopter, the NL 5 serves for the seamless extension of the range provided by the NL 3 close-up lens on a 35mm main lens (up to approx. 1:3.5). If you can tolerate a small gap after the NL2 close-up lens on a 50mm main lens (approx. 1:4.4-1:4), then you enter a little farther into the macro range with the NL 5 instead of the NL 4 (up to approx. 1:2.6).
These lenses can be combined by adding their refractive powers. Do not combine more than two close-up lenses because there is a danger of mechanical vignetting.
Features
- Especially useful for simple close-ups
- Fascinating shots of flowers, insects, and small objects
- Suitable for analog and digital cameras
- Low-cost, straightforward entry to close-up photography
Close-up lenses
As clearly illustrated, the stronger the close-up lens, the closer you can get to the subject with the same distance setting and the larger the image you can obtain. A longer exposure time is not necessary.
B+W close-up lenses can be combined, but for quality reasons and to prevent vignetting no more than two lenses should be mounted over each other. The values are simply added together.
